Each participant earns awards based on their finish in that race PLUS series points for an award after the final race at the end of Summer. |

Triathlon Series is two races here in Highlands
County designed to get our children doing what they
love best -- swimming, biking and running -- with a

All RHYTS events are hosted by the
Highlands County Family YMCA at 100 YMCA Lane,
Sebring, FL. The swim will be held in the newly
constructed 25 yard pool, with the bike course
running through the surrounding community and the
run course contained with the Max Long Recreation
Complex. |

Because we believe that children
healthy in body will have a better chance at being
healthy in mind. Because we believe in the family
unit, and want to foster family strengthening
lifestyles, such as triathlon. Because we believe
that, unlike other organized sports, triathlon (and
its individual component sports) foster healthy
lifestyles (from food choices to increased physical
activity). Also, triathletes, unlike other sports,
can be enjoyed individually or together with
friends, family or a team. And, finally, because
it’s FUN!

So, I know how to swim, ride a bike
and run but how do I train for a triathlon? How does
the race work? How can I find out more information?
Glad you asked! TriPower is a triathlon-specific
training team (for youth); it’s a component of
Highlands Pedalers. Our first meeting/training
session is 3 p.m. Feb. 11 at YMCA. It should last
about an hour-and-ahalf and your parents are
required to attend the full session (so tell them to
